What
is the sailing season in Greece?
|
Sailing in Greece is between April
to October. The winds and temperature during this period are
great for sailing. Conditions for enjoying the local cultural
and night life and visiting the archeological sites are ideal.
The water temperature is still chilly in April and starts to
warm up in May and typically lasting until the end of October.
Winds in Greece vary with the sailing area and season.
Most people who know this Aegean, are aware of the North Wind,
named the Meltemi, which blows more frequently and with greater
strength mid July to mid August, especially. in the Cyclades
group of islands. If this winds picks up in the Cyclades, there
are usually alternate areas to sail. |

Hello we are
interested in joining a flotilla bare boat itinerary for two
weeks sailing the greek islands. Do you offer such a package? |
|
Sure, We here at Albatross Charters
offer a wide variety of "bare boat" flotillas, please
reference our "Flotilla" section of the Albatross Charters
Website:

|
I am interested
in the Athens to Rhodes flotilla with a group of four to six
persons. Would it be possible to be part of the flotilla with
out a captain (our group would include at least two experienced
sailors). John |
|
John, You can join our flitillas
and take a boat as a bareboat with you as the skipper. The difference
is that you would have the responsibility for you boat and may
not be able to take part in some of the tours and sightseeing
we have planned for some of the islands. Please reference our
"Flotilla" section of the Albatross Charters Website:

Dear Tim:
In Many years
of chartering, I have never had a pleasanter experience than
our recent bareboat charter of an Atlantic 44 in the Aegean.
Everything
from our initial contact with you to the summoning of a before
dawn taxi to the airport on our last day in Greece was as smooth
and efficient as possible.
We shall certainly
come back to Albatross for any future excursions in that part
of the world.
Sincerely,
Ted Caplow |
